Today marks one year since I took the plunge and launched my blog. However, it was after my 25th birthday that I finally decided I was going to start blogging.

Looking back, I would describe my 25th birthday as a turning point in my life. I remember having a little bit of a quarter life crisis. I spent my 25th birthday laying on my couch, eating Coldstone ice cream by the spoonfuls, watching the Fifty Shades of Grey movies, and just feeling sorry for myself. I remember feeling like I wasn’t enough…. and that I needed to be further along in my life, have a more established career, make more money, travel more, or at least have birthday plans.

My first day of being 25 is when I felt a shift. I woke on November 7th, one day after my birthday knowing that my life had to change, and I was the only person who could change it. A little over a month later, I taught my first Pure Barre class at Pure Barre Stapleton. Being hired at Pure Barre Stapleton and becoming an instructor, I believe was fate. I’ve talked about Pure Barre a lot on my blog because of the difference it has made and continues to make in my life. I met some of my now best friends in Denver from Pure Barre Stapleton. These friends have helped change my life the better, and I hope they know it. (Bailey, Hannah, and Barb, I’m referring to you.)

Not too long after, I started working on my blog. Creating my blog was a challenge. I didn’t know how to design a website, but I figured that’s why they invented Google. (I’ve designed 3 websites since). I also had a fear of no one reading my blog or everyone hating it. Then I realized I have a bigger fear of not trying than a fear of failure.

Fast forward to today, February 1st 2019. I am many blog posts later, many Instagram followers later, and most importantly a better understanding of who I am as a person and what truly drives me. I believe that 25th birthday/quarter life crisis inspired me to take some risks and make some changes. There’s so much that has happened in the last 365 days, and I wouldn’t have accomplished any of it if I hadn’t taken a leap of faith and believed in myself. My point of sharing this with you is that not all days are going to be great, but let those days inspire to create great ones while chasing your passions and dreams.

As always, thank you for reading.

XO,

Madison
