Quarantine Activities

Alright, so we are clearly in the middle of Quarantine and social distancing. By now there has to have been at least one or two times that you’ve felt bored or stir crazy, but don’t worry I’ve got you covered.

Quarantine and social distancing is really all about what you make it. (Cue ‘Life is What You Make It By Hannah Montana AKA Miley Cyrus… if you have never heard the song my blog probably isn’t the place for you haha.)

I decided to make the most of this time, and wanted to share some fun activities to do while Quarantining and Social Distancing. First off, I know everyone’s living situation is different so get creative and do what works for you. Once again, this is all about what you make it.

Game Night - I am not talking boring game night here, I am talking pour yourself a drink, get your significant other or your roommates, your favorite games, and your favorite childhood candy…. and actually play games. You will sure find out if you like someone about halfway through Monopoly…. if one of you starts hiding money and cheating… well maybe you should’ve had a little less to drink.

Wine Night - Think of this as your own at home wine tasting. Buy a variety of wines (be thankful liquor stores are “essential”), get variety of cheeses, nuts, fruits…. make your own cheese board and start tasting your wines. If you want to make this even more of an experience, get cute! Stop walking around in your yoga pants or pajamas all day. You know the saying “look good, feel good?” That definitely can apply right now.

Margs & Tacos- Sure, none of us are trying to look like we over-ate in Quarantine, but have fun! Turn your kitchen into a Mexican restaurant and enjoy the experience just like you would at one of your favorites, but you can get a little tipsy while cooking, so bonus!

Date Night In- Remember what it was like to get cute and go to a bar and dance? Well do that same thing, but you’re just going to your living room. Once again, do whatever it takes to make yourself fee good, maybe that’s doing your hair or make up, or maybe that’s putting on your favorite yoga pants.

Take a Walk- If you’re somewhere that you can talk a walk in the sunshine, you definitely should. Sunshine and fresh air is good for the soul and for your body. Obviously, practice all social distancing requirements, but this will absolutely brighten your mood. When you’re on your walk, take in how beautiful nature really is. This is the perfect time to really enjoy the small things.

Breakfast for Dinner- Remember when you were a kid, and your parents would sometimes make breakfast for dinner? Well now it’s your turn. Whip up your favorite breakfast, but for dinner. Maybe it’s chocolate chip waffles, pancakes, crepes, Eggs Benedict…. maybe you even make homemade syrup. Put your own little spin on your favorites!

Spa Night- Make yourself and whoever you’re Quarantining with some spa water, put on your bath robe, find your favorite nail polish, lotion, and whatever other spa things you have at home, and create a little spa night. You can even find spa music on Spotify, this is your perfect opportunity to relax. If you’re like me and still haven’t really cleaned, maybe put cucumbers over your eyes too just so the lack of cleanliness doesn’t affect your spa night.

I hope these ideas help you to create something fun to look forward to during this time. I am a big believer on having something to look forward to as a motivator, and just because it adds to the fullness of your life. Like I’ve said it’s all about what you make of the situation, so make it the best experience you can with what you have to work with.

It is also important to note, that not everyone is going to learn a new skill, write a book, create a new business, or have some huge accomplishment during Quarantine. Be gentle on yourself, and do what you feel is right for yourself.

As always thank you for reading.

XO,

Madison
